"Emek" . Marc Lavry A working day in the Emek (Valley of Israel) is interrupted by the appearance of a young bridal pair who are surprised by a happy welcome from their comrades. But there must also be a little fun and so, for a moment, they are separated from one another. A brief intermezzo shows them seeking one another, teased by two young shepherds and a group of girls antil at last they find each other. Late afternoon: The interrupted work is again resumed (Song of Work) and ends in a dance. Second reception for the triumphant and now reunited bridal pair who at the end, as darknsss falls, are solemnly led to their decorated bridal tent. Night comes but the comrades do not yet want to finish the day of festivities and with the in- tention of devoting the entire night to dancing they again begin jollification. They dance round the tent so long that at last the happy couple, infected by the jollity of their friends, join in the crowning event of the festival with the rhythm of a horra till the morning rises full of light sun and beauty.
